Intervention Programmes.

Once a child has been through an assessment at The Learning & Psychology Centre, the team works with the school and/or parent of the child to develop an intervention programme based on these findings.  The LPC will develop a support plan that helps children strengthen their abilities, confidence and develop strategies to overcome their individual challenges with an overall goal to strengthen their abilities for them to succeed at school.

The range of intervention programmes include:

Group Workshops

The group workshops, at The Learning and Psychology Centre, aim to enhance individuals social and emotional regulation skills through experiential activities and peer interaction. These workshops are conducted periodically, forming age-appropriate groups, with the goal of strengthening the aforementioned skills through activities that involve play, art, science, dialogue, and fun. Throughout these workshops, the main focus will be enhancing and strengthening skills such as planning, teamwork, assertive communication, problem-solving, empathy and self-esteem, among others.

PROGRAMME DETAILS:

  • Students aged 3 to 18 years old.
  • Support provided by a highly qualified therapist.
  • The school and parents will be provided with strategies in order to equip them with the necessary tools and skills to keep supporting the student´s process.
  • Peer interaction, which promotes skill development.
  • Ideal for children with special educational needs and learning differences.
Emotional Support In A Given Context

This programme is aimed at students with behavioral and/or emotional difficulties within the school context. The close relationship between emotional regulation and behavior influences an individual’s self-regulation and the way they interact with the environment. One of the advantages of this programme is performing the intervention within the school setting, allowing the psychologist to analyze both contextual and individual variables influencing the issue.

Additionally, this programme provides one-on-one support in the use of the necessary skills that will allow the promotion of the well-being of each of the students. The distinguishing factor of this programme is providing relevant support and strategies for students to learn to face daily situations in a more adaptive manner, utilizing modeling and co-regulation as primary strategies. It’s important to highlight that immediate intervention facilitates internalization and generalization of desired skills and behaviors. Similarly, the intensity of the programme will be tailored according to the needs of each student.

  • The school will be provided with strategies in order to equip them with the necessary tools and skills to keep supporting the student´s process

The aim of our Inclusive Education Programme is to provide children with special educational needs with a flexible curriculum that fits their needs and develops their full potential.

It involves the realization, execution, and monitoring of an individualized plan focused on the child’s development profile. This will be the result of the teamwork of therapists and teachers, led by the academic and neuropsychological areas of KSI KidS and The Learning and Psychology Centre. The proposed integrated work of these units respects the pace of learning of each student and gives children with special educational needs the specific accompaniment and stimulation they require, while supporting them in their social and affective development in their environment.
